Construction Guidelines
Surface Preparation
- Concrete: Must be firm, dense, flat, clean, and dry. Repair cracks/holes with putty. Remove laitance, gloss, and contaminants.
- Steel/Wood: Clean, dry, and free of rust, scale, burrs, or debris. Abrasive blasting or grinding is typically required for steel.
Recommended Application Process
- Surface Abrasion: Wire brush or power tool cleaning/derusting.
- Cleaning: Remove all dust with an air blower or vacuum.
- Primer Application: Apply a suitable primer to enhance adhesion.
- Putty Filling: Trowel putty into major imperfections if needed.
- Secondary Primer: Apply a second primer coat over putty.
- Polyurea Application: Apply the SJHB-908 polyurea.
- Recommended Coverage: 1.7 kg/m² to achieve a 1.5 mm dry film thickness.
- Methods: Use an ultra-high-pressure sprayer, roller, or for trowel-grade products, a slow trowel/mini roller.
Special Note for Low-Temperature Application
For construction in environments as low as -10°C, precondition the coating by storing the sealed container in a heated room (above 20°C) for more than 24 hours prior to use to ensure optimal viscosity and cure.
Packaging & Storage
- Packaging: Available in 200L large drums or 20L small drums for project flexibility.
- Storage: Store in a sealed container in a cool (5-35°C), ventilated area away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep from freezing.
